DAAP Type Club
When I joined DAAP Type Club, our school’s dedicated club to explore the limits of typography, I was one of the two freshmen out of 70 to do so, the rest being sophomores. And since the club suffered from low attendance due to the alternating CO-OP schedule that DAAP students face, I ended up being the only regular attendee by November, which is how I got the opportunity to run the club the following semester. The eight gatherings the club held in the first half of 2026 gave me the opportunity to expand my horizons through eye-catching posters and gave students the chance to explore the world of letters beyond paragraph setting.

Intro: Concept
The idea was that using different typefaces emphasized diversity in our club.
Intro: FinalMuhammad & Anh, who are both more experimental-minded than I am, wanted more texture, so we ended up with a poster that highlights characteristics of the typefaces chosen.TypeforgeBefore my second time going to a TypeClub meeting, I was reading Made With FontFont, and in the section dedicated to Hans Reichel’s FF Dax, I discovered a little animation where a disembodied hammer turns a Dax glyph into a Helvetica glyph. I transformed this into a TypeClub activity to show students how much variation typography can offer.TypecookThe poster, made for an activity where we made letterforms using consumable ingredients, was last minute. But it’s seems to be the Typeclub favorite.SummaryThese are all of the posters that I made that I still like. The key to Typeclub’s identity is the use of OhNo’s Obviously, the most flamboyant typeface out there. It gives the club a sense of vibrancy that other typefaces cannot.
